Do you know what I should do?!

Hypertech III Problems - *solved (PCM reset)
I recently sold my HPP III to 14x4. I removed the programming from my truck so he could start with a clean slate. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. The issue is the following below:

Re: Hypertech III Problems - 14x4 needs help
Problem solved.
He disconnected his battery for 45 minutes and reconnected. The truck runs now.
It sounds like it lost communication while programming. That can be as simple as a bad connection at the connector, wiggling the cable or bumping the programmer. A low battery condition can be a problem too. You must have a fully charged battery that will hold voltage for the fifteen to twenty minutes it takes to program the truck.
If I have had my battery disconnected for a while , sometimes it takes two or three tries to get the truck to start and run. It will start and die several times. It seems to work better when I turn the key on wait, off. I repeat this a few times and then start it.
Maybe a similar thing happened when he programmed his truck? Strange.

Re: Hypertech III Problems - *solved (PCM reset)
Yes. After leaving my battery disconnected for 45 minutes, the truck started back up. However, I'm assuming, the programming wasn't successful. I will try again today. I just hope that the battery-disconnect will work again, that is, if the truck were to die again.
Should I be worried about my PCM if I keep trying this? Will I ruin the software?
Like in my quote, the PCM gave the trouble codes, U1255 (class 2 communication malfunction) and P1626 (manufacturer controlled computer output circuit). Also, the programmer itself gave a code of 7E - I tried looking up Hypertech's code definitions but I wasn't able to find anything.

Tried it again today. Same results; code 7E. I will have to reset my PCM again. I'll wait until Tuesday to contact Hypertech's tech support.

Bummer
Did you pull the radio fuse, Radio amp fuse , and No Onstar, right? The doors were close too, right?
It looks like Ipod adapters and trailer brake controllers will interfere too.

vehicle’s battery is fully charged and you do not have a
drain on the battery. For this reason these precaution should
be taken. Please check and remove the following if they are
installed on the vehicle.
DO NOT program with a battery charger connected to
the vehicle.
Close and keep all doors shut. (This eliminates interior
lights and alarms from sounding.)
DO NOT operate electrical accessories (radio, windows,
wipers, etc.). If it’s hot, roll the window(s) down BEFORE
programming the vehicle.
Vehicles equipped with OnStar, satellite radio, remote
starter, and/or aftermarket speakers/amplifiers MUST have
the fuse/fuses removed in order to disable those devices
PRIOR to and during the programming process. (Refer to
the owners manual for location of radio, remote start, and
amp fuses.)
Make sure nothing is plugged into the cigarette lighter or
any other auxiliary power port on the vehicle BEFORE
programming.
After inspection of the vehicle and removal of the fuse(s) that
operate any accessory packages, continue with the installation
of the programmer.
Once the programming cable has been connected to
the vehicle’s diagnostic port and to the programmer,
DO NOT remove or disturb the cable during the ENTIRE
programming process. Only remove the cable from the
diagnostic port when the installation is complete.
DO NOT leave the vehicle during programming.
The programmer screen will display instructions for you
to follow i.e., turning the key to the On position (but NOT
starting the engine), and you will be asked to select certain
engine tuning and vehicle adjustment features.
During the installation and programming if an error should occur,
a help number will be displayed on the programmer screen. Write
down the error message and contact the tech support team on
the provided telephone

I did do it with the door open today, but no lights were on what-so-ever. Also, last night I tried with the door closed. I got the same results each time.
I will post the results after I talk to Hypertech on Tuesday.

Well at least you know the original purchaser so that it could be warrantied. Any chance the sales receipt is still around?
I get the feeling they do not support used programmers and the service will only apply to an original purchaser.

14x4, let me know if you would like for me to speak with Hypertech if you don't get resolution from them. I'm glad I saved the packing slip.
Did the USPS box show up with any damage? (I insured the shipping.)

The box seems to have no damage, aside from a crease or two.

Re: Hypertech III Problems - *solved (PCM reset)
I just called Hypertech. Like I assumed, they asked for my name, among other things. It made it kind of awkward because I couldn't lie to the man. He insisted I wasn't the original owner. Oh well.
I told him about the "7E" code. He said it was electrical interference. He told me to have my radio off. It was. He told me to unplug anything in my cigarette lighter. I did. He asked if I had a security system installed. I don't.
EDIT: I misunderstood the technical support. I don't know why I wrote "remote start" because I don't even have one. That was my fault. I might have gotten that confused with keyless entry.
However, I called again because I realized the stupid mistake. I asked the same question again. They said anything that is not stock needs the fuse pulled. The only aftermarket thing I have is my radio but I turned it off. He said that is not good enough because it is still pulling amperage. I need to pull the fuse for my radio and it should work.
I'm about to go outside and try it. I'll report back in a little while.

Alright. I removed the fuse for the radio. However, neither the fuel gauge nor the odometer work when I take the radio fuse out. Is this normal? Should I proceed with the programming even though this is happening?

You didn't install a fuse when you installed the radio?

Re: Hypertech III Problems - *solved (PCM reset)
When I installed the radio, from what I remember, it was simply unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one (inside the dash). I didn't mess with any fuses.

Re: Hypertech III Problems - *solved (PCM reset)
I would probably unplug it then. That plug has a serial 2 data connection. If it is connected to the radio, that may be a source of interference. The stock radio is not an issue. It is an aftermarket installation that might create a problem.

Success!
I changed my octane to 93, I changed the tire size to 32.75" and I chose firmer shifting (it's really noticeable!).
Any objections?

I did. I adjusted 1-2 2-3 for WOT performance. Then 3-4 was set to help with the stutter on a light grade.
There is a good thread on our HPPIII settings. That should have what I did for mine last.
