ABS "upgrade"
Hi, i would like to know if somebody knows if there is an "upgrade" for the abs system (mainly the module i guess) in order to include traction control.
I have beed reading about ABS and Traction control or ASR and they share a common platform and work like in reverse:
while abs during a brake detects and reducing pressure to the wheel that is blocked, traction control try to stop the wheel that looses traction and is rotating faster than the other.
Mostly, abs and traction control come in the same module.
My cc is year 2001, has 4 wheel abs and the brand of the module is hayes (usa).
i will appreciate your help.
i have a full automatic locker in the rear end y and i want to add traction control to the front end.
Thanks!
Fermin

I have traction control on my 98 park avenue and DO NOT LIKE IT. Seems to rob too much power whenever it applies. The Buick is 3.8 V6 equipped and does not lack for power otherwise. Fortunately there is an override button to shut it down which I have used in stuck situations. It is not as good as one might expect in a wheel slippage situation. Proceed with caution.
2001 CC LS, pewter, stock, 4.3,Wait4meperformance, CFM throttle blade, Helix throttle body spacer, 4spd auto, 3button electric 4x4 shift, heavy duty factory suspension, Bilsteins, 1" rear wheel spacers, skid plates.

They had a crew cab years before us too. That is where our Isuzu bed came from.
