paintless dent removal

Post by Donnie »

How does it work, is it really paintless..I have a couple dings, cause by the differential in a 18 wheeler blowing up as it passed me, scattering bearings all over the place..insurance paid up, replaced windshield, and major dents but still a couple remain....

It works really well. These guys are artists. Lots of pushing, massaging and use of other techniques. I saw one using soap stone to work a dent out.

Well worth it if the guy knows his art.

I have a couple friends around here that work under the "Dent King" franchise. They have more business than they can satisfy just working car dealers.

If the dent is small enough, you also can try dry ice on a hot summer day. My dad told me about this method and it works

We sub out a guy at our shop and it saves people hundreds! It makes a huge difference in where the dent is though. If it's on a body line or a sharp dent there's not much they can do. If you post a pic I can give you an idea on if it may work or not.

Not quite the high quality I'm used to but if your not too picky or a little on the broke side, that seems to do fairly well.

Dry Ice

Post by Donnie »

Tried it, I am impressed with what it will do for a small dent, so long as there are no creases, it will be gone, as for dents with creases, took some out, not enough to really make a big difference, but it does work. No pictures, got the ice went to get the camerea and wife had it with the grandkids, so , sorry

Glad it worked out for ya. I've heard that it's more effective if you heat the area first. Either park in direct sun for a few hours or try a heat gun but I'd be afraid of damaging the finish even more with the gun.

ice

Post by Donnie »

Well I live in Fla and it was 95 the day I did it, so don't think I have to worry about the heating it up, one small ding on the hood , when I put dry ice on it , it just disapeared...dropped a peice and the dog got it, blistered the tounge
