The 40 amp fuse keeps popping and it's at ramdom! I thought it was the aftermarket alarm, so I had it pulled. Still popping the fuse. The second time, it popped, I saw a little puff of smoke, come out from under the dash. Any ideas what it can be and what is on this circuit? Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. BTW, the truck is a 2002 crewcab.

That narrows it down Look at the underside of the electrical center lid, or consult your owners manual for a location label. Each location has a name.
We have no way of knowing who has put what where in your fuse box. The color of the fuse is of no help.

Look for a bare wire where your alarm tied into the ignition wires at the steering column.

I am still looking. I need to get the ignition key housing off the steering column. Can this be done without removing the steering wheel? I have ruled out the red wire going to the ignition key. I think it's going to be a pink wire and it is up in that housing. I had the fuse pop on me, again and it was when I was using the tilt, this time.
