Wheel bearing problem - local prices

Post by GAS »

My driver’s side wheel bearing is totally dead – that’s a bad news №1 :( , the local price of AC Delco WB is around $380 and need to wait it for 3 weeks – that’s a bad news №2 :x . Anybody knows what kind of manufacturer is BCA and what about WBs «made in Taiwan» (It will cost me around $175)?

Thanks for help. I visited SO site and I saw what they offered. It’s a pretty attractive price $84.95 for WB. I whish I can buy it but I’m afraid it’s beyond the reach of me. I guess I should make $380 hole in my budget to buy AC Delco WB. It is a pity because I’m not impressed AC Delco quality (I use its front shock absorbers for less then year and already got corrosion on its rods).

I recognize the BCA brand ,but I can not attest to the quality. I want to say it should be good , but I am not sure.
What about giving that less expensive unit a try? Does it carry a warranty? At half the price it might be worth a shot.

I paid $200 for the last one that I bought through NAPA. I have not priced the AC Delco to compare the difference.

As far as I know we do not have any other members from the Russian Federation, so local information may be hard to come by. Perhaps you could ask a local shop about your options? They might be able to recommend a brand or another option.

I believe he was talking about customs and importation.

Lucky you guys. You free to choose any manufacturer you like. Here we have few «grey» sellers who ask price so high he wants. I think there is some person who fly to US and buy parts we need in nearest store. Something like that. :? So I’m not ready to pay double price… yet. However, I think I will be soon – I need my truck. When somebody of you will get some Russian car, I guess he will face similar problems.
While yesterday my server was «not found» :!: I made couple phone calls and I get luck – I find BCA WB for $250. Now I should see that store, prepay half-price and wait my WB for 10 days. So that’s a deal. :?
