when changing the shackles is there anything specisl that needs to be done or just remove the old and replace with new?Does the spring pack have tension on it?

I've replaced several sets on different vehicles. The main thing is to jack the vehicle up by the frame or bumper, allowing the tires/axle to hang free. This removes alot of the tenstion in the springs. depending on the length of the shackles, you may have to pry the springs up or down to get them to line up with the shackles correctly. When I put Bubaloo's shackles on my truck a few months ago, the whole process took me less than an hour.

I actually just changed back to stock shackles two days ago... I didn't like the sway on the freeway when changing lanes quickly. I does help to have two people to do the job, but it is possible to be done by yourself.

I thought about it! But I didn't like the big height difference from the back to the front! But once I took those things off, I couldn't believe how much better it handled! lol I'll probably keep them in my garage for the time being... Who knows what I'll do??

ok next ? got the old shackle off now how in the H*LL do I go about getting the leaf far enough from the frame to get th new 1 on they are tight and no movement

Jack up the frame a little more or have a friend pull down on the leaf spring to get the other one on there.

I use jack stands and my hilift jack to get the wheels completelly off the ground after I've loosened the bolts. This usually takes the stress of the leaf springs.

almost done then another snag

the front has coil over struts and I cant get the strut loose the nuts just spinning the entire inside of the strut and idea how to stop the inside from spinning and get that nut off?

There may be a special tool available to hold the strut while turning the nut. Look at the top of the strut where the nut is, there may be a torx or some other way to counter hold it on the strut itself. Usually when I do a strut I use an O2 sensor wrench. It depends on the size of the nut that you are trying to remove.

I can get an 8mm wrench on it but cant get it to turn

Are you doing it by hand or with a compressor?? Let the spring up so it puts tension on the top. Just a suggestion.

finally got it had to put the end in a vise . Now my datsun will fit 33s without rubbing shes 2 1/2in higher now
