Brush Gaurd Mounts

Post by rennat_2006 »

Can anyone shoot me some pictures of the mounts for like a westin sportsman brush gaurd. I picked one up for $20 with a bent top tube and hacked it off ground it smooth and had the whole thing sprayed with Line-x(its nice working for one). This was without any brackets.

It looks like im gonna have to make my own and even though alot of people run these brush guards or something very similar no-one has spoken up and helped me out on any other site.

Thanks in advance

Go to Westin's website and use their install directions. They include some nice drawings.

You know it might not even be a sportsman, it looks just like it in every way except for how their instructions show the top mounting. The guard i have has 2 holes on the top of the middle plate not on the back side as shown in the instructions.

Alright heres some pictures.

It does have headlight guards but i just have them taken off, and it did have the top bar that would go over the hood but i took it off because of it being bent.

The reason why im thinking it might not be a westin is becuase the middle flat bar has holes in the top of it and the westin shows them on the side and thats where the top mounts bolt to.

Heres some pics...sorry for the size but i dont know how to resize.

Tanner,
I have a WAAG that came off a ZR2 that has been modified using the tow hook holes to mount to our non Z frame. Your Z frame is narrower forward of the firewall than a non Z for your 31/10.50s to fit. Will take a pick or 2 in the late AM if you would like.

Yeah that would be great.

Can you snap a couple pics of where the bracket bolt to the grill guard for me too.

The more pics of the brackets and guard the better!

Thanks

It's gonna look a little rough because the ZR2.com member I got it from had already modded the WAAG but it will give you an idea. I had to have 1st gen S-10 tow hooks welded to it to satisfy my welding shop's strength concerns.

If you mean brackets to the upper bumper bolts, I will be unable to do that. Mine is mounted to the frame, via the tow hook holes only but, is quite stout.

It's still raining here but, will try to get the pics when it stops. I need to do some work on my lights so, I'm keeping an eye on the weather.
