LOL , well hopefully the person making the bumpers will have a contact number or site OUTSIDE of ZR2USA.com .
That way , even us non z owners can buy one .
Also , I hope that they make them adaptable for the Regular S10 Chassis . Since the Zr2 is different , is it not ?
I sure wish i could ask these kind of questions to correct people .

You need to trust an "old" senior citizen (with a thin skin and now a minority) for a day or two

They should not be affected much if at all. The sensors are inertia based. Think of them as a weight centered in a rubber diaphram. During a sudden loss of inertia (hitting something) the weight continues to maintain the direction and speed. If this is significant enough it activates and sets off the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System)top_sgt wrote:...how are the front air bag sensors affected by the new bumper?
in·er·tia (-nûrsh-)
n.
1. The tendency of a body to resist acceleration; the tendency of a body at rest to remain at rest or of a body in motion to stay in motion in a straight line unless acted on by an outside force.
2. Resistance or disinclination to motion, action, or change.
Changing the front bumper will alter the crush zone. This could transfer the forces a little quicker. The SRS might be a little more sensitive with this change?
One thing that is likely is that the forces must go somewhere. The rigid front bumper will likely transfer the forces to the chassis and back through the body. This could lead to greater forces being transferred to the occupants, and a greater risk of mortality? Crash testing would be the only way to know for sure.

Yeah the sensors are not touched. I never knew they were inertia based though. I thoiught they were based on if they were somewhat hit then thats what would set the airbags off. I think by puttin the bumper on I will be causing more damage to my truck if I am involved in an accedent. Then again thats the price I am paying to have a bumper that will stand up to some abuse offroad.I dont drive my truck everyday so its a lil bit less of an risk, however it is in the back of my mind when I am driving.
P.S. I always have my passengers wear their seatbelts in my truck. I dont go anywhre until they put it on.

Sorry But The Person Who Will Be Making These Bumpers Is The Owner/Founder Of zr2USA.com.
So am I correct to assume that they will not be offered to purchase by anyone other than a ZR2 owner ?
That just seems stupid if it is true .
I can't even email this guy to ask these questions . I just have to wait and see I guess .
