o wow i was at autozone about a week ago and saw these shackles made really simple and at a cost of about $15.99 beats the hell out of daystar..they have 3 diffrent holes to pick from and i have them in the middle one for 1.5 inch of lift but think i will go ahead and max them out for a little rake after torison bar crank...anyone wanting shackles i highly recoomend them takes and hour and i did it all by my self with a floor jack and couple of sockets...do it
We call them rabbit catchers (inside joke from the Radical Ranchero days)
They have no center support and bend sideways pretty easily. They are better used on street driven vehicles that do not see side loading, aka drag cars.
I would suggest that you are getting what you pay for here. BTW, I have a brand new set on the shelf that were given to me They were "the thing" back in the late seventies to early eighties.

how much longer than stock? how thick are they? if they are not stupid long and at least 3/8" thick. they'll do. not have the center section will just help flex
The ones that I have are close to 1/2" thick. But the are zinc plated. Anything zinc plated is soft.

couldnt you just throw in a center spacer and bolt the plates to it... for support. Although not as strong as a one piece shackle, at least you wouldnt have wasted $30.00.
