just checking in - roll call of sorts

Post by bigmansoftware »

Just checking in. Just brought home a new 2004 last weekend. Very nice truck. Wife is happy that she will not have to see the 83 short box any longer. But, I really love that truck. Gonna try to keep it and continue the rebuild.

Q: Have 18" wheels and low profile tires on the 83. It is a 2 WD. They have a 5 bolt pattern (and serveral 6 bolt). Can I swap the tires with my new truck? Is the 5 bolt pattern the same across all GM trucks.

The bolt circle should be the same , however , the rearspacing is different for the 2wd and may pose a problem if the tires have any size to them.

Our wheels have 6" rear spacing on a 7" wide wheel.

All you can do is give it a try.

Thanks for the welcomes. I am really happy with the truck so far. I was going to buy the new Nissan Titan, but just could not stomach the price. I plan to add a dvd for my son, throw the 18's on for a while before I can lift the truck and add some larger tires. Planning a trip to Colorado next month and then off to Estes in the summer. So I hope to do some mild off roading

Not real sure what I can mod without voiding the warranty so will be stock for awhile. Oh yeah, need to actually license the truck so if anyone has 2 grand they are not using...

Lots of good content here, hopefully I can add to it. And that spell check option is great
