When was the last time you lubed the torsion bar sockets?
Spray the leaf springs and see if it quits?
Check the e-brake cable bracket and lube those two cables where they slide in that bracket.
Shocks?

could be any number of things, my creaky noise turned out to be my passenger side lower ball joint

Re: what would the noise be?
my creeking was my stabilizer bar links creeked from side to side and barely creeked up and down
Re: what would the noise be?
My creaking, almost popping noises was/are my lower ball joints. they are the originals and they have ~90k miles on them

Apparently the OP lost interest or discovered that his/her volume knob works wonders.
