New Bumper
Instead of extensively modifying my hitch to fit on the truck and then adding some sort of rear tow-points, I decided to just have a custom bumper made.
It has two shackle mounts and a 2" hitch receiver built into it. I told him to give it enough flat space so that he could add a spare tire carrier in the future if I ever wanted one. I still need to buy the shackles and I'm also going to get some grip tape or something to put on the flat surfaces.
It sits a tad lower than I'd like, but overall I'm very satisfied with it.
It's also much heavier than the stock bumper so it helps to lower the rear end a bit.

Re: New Bumper
very nice i like it
Re: New Bumper
Thanks Dozer.
Anyone know of an easy lighting mod I can do for my license plate? I can, of course, just drill holes and install the existing license plate lights, but I just wanted to see if there was anything easier.

Re: New Bumper
could just get one of thows frames that had built in lights, also i like the bumper alot it looks really nice , is it painted or??
Re: New Bumper
Thanks! The guy just spray painted it with latex paint or whatever. It looks fine in the pictures but in person you can really tell it's just spray paint. I'm going to get it professionally painted with auto body paint to match the truck.
A couple of my friends suggested the lit license plate frames, but I'm not sure if I'd like that or not. That would probably be the easiest thing, though...

Re: New Bumper
were did you get the taillight grads from i need those bad??
Re: New Bumper
They're made by a company called Manik. I bought them on Ebay. From what I remember they weren't easy to find. Check Manik's website (or websites which sell Manik equipment) and Ebay. I'm not sure if they are discontinued or not.dozer1530 wrote:were did you get the taillight grads from i need those bad??
