ECM HELP!!! Putting in used pcm from salvage
Is there a way to disable the theft feature so i can use another Ecm without going to the dealer,

I don't think so. I believe the PCM must be encoded with the correct VIN or it will not play well with the other modules.

yes, henryj is correct. You must have the ecm VIN matched to the BCM for it to work.

I am using a BCM that is not VIN matched on my truck so that I have the Tow/Haul mode. The dealer could not tell me if matching my VIN was possible, or if it might disable the Tow/Haul. I have not given it a try. Not sure I even will.
Currently it has the airbag light on and disabled. That is fine since I have a laptop in front of the passenger side bag anyway.
I am living with it as is for now.
