Driving in park?

Post by jedthrocornpone »

Ok so I'm not Driving in Park, but that's the best way to describe what is going on. I come to a stop and place the shifter into P and I release my foot from the brake pedal. Then I get a "powered" roll. It doesn't do it every time I shift to park. When it does it seems like if I dawddle on my way to park it rolls backward and if I am "Johnny on the spot" it will roll forward. I park in the same spot with the same grade so slope doesn't seem to matter.

I'm used to a ford that rolls until it hits the inner-lock (whatever its called) but this is a "surge" not a "roll" (it will roll back in my driveway, and it has "surged" uphill here too.)

So anybody know what's up, or am I just going (even more) crazy?

Sounds like slop in the shift linkage or at least that's where I would start looking.
