....I wouldn't think the exhaust temperatures would be so hot as to really discolor the stainless. Have any of you guys come across this, and do any of you guys have the Magnaflow exhaust?

Magnaflow exhaust discoloring
I just installed a new stainless steel cat-back Magnaflow exhaust on my CC, and after only ~100-150 miles the exhaust pipe after the cat is dark purple and almost black from heat discoloration. The pipe just before the exhaust tip also looks kinda purpleish ....
I wouldn't think the exhaust temperatures would be so hot as to really discolor the stainless. Have any of you guys come across this, and do any of you guys have the Magnaflow exhaust?

i could be way off here but this is just a thuoght, could it be from oil on your hands. I think bikers have a problem with that on there pipes. I think.
