Recommendation??

Post by Trunk Monkey »

I am planning on giving my s10 crew cab to my kid and want to have some modifications done to it to make it "cool"

I want to lift it enough to get some bigger tires and rims on it.

How much of a lift would you recommend and would you recommend a body or suspension lift?

I don't think it will go off-road...

Also what lift kits would you suggest...

Thanks

I'd start having a look at the member photo albums on the main page. See something you like or close to what you're looking to do and it's not hard to track down the member's posts and see what sort of mods have been made. Also have a look thru the Tires/Lifts/Suspension section. Not as many pictures but tons of great info.

Welcome to the site :D

btw... how old is this "kid" you speak of? this may be an excellent opportunity to teach him/her a thing or two about modifying/repairing his/her vehicle. rather than "having them done". not to mention some quality parent/child bonding experience. good luck.

hey welcome to the site. i'll tell you what, the easiest way to acheive a look is to just copy someone. instead of guess work, find a truck and then post it here and tell us what you like about it and we'll tell you what was done to it....does that work for you?

for example...here's mine:

if you look on my member page you will find all the mods i did to it...

correct me if I am wrong.. They way I understand your question it sounds like you want to know what is hip or cool these days. I aint trying to make you sound old or anything so don't take it wrong but that is the way I understand it..
If that is the case. Most youngins these days are more into cosmetic aspect of things. its all in how good it looks ..
If you are going to travel down this road, I suggest.. I suggest things like tinted windows, definitely ebay taillights or covers like AZS10CREW, side steps , 2 inch body lift,, 31s and rims .. the latter being more expensive..

Welcome to the site....How cool do you want to make it (how much do you want to spend)...You can do anything from a 2" body lift with slightly bigger tires and some cool wheels or you can do a suspension lift and use bigger tires and cool wheels. The key is the tire size and make sure to get very cool wheels.....and don't forget the fog lights
