I think that is a little bit of a stretch to find them very similar. I do see some resemblences though.
I have fond memories of my second truck, a 1960 Chevrolet Apache short stepside , 326 ci. Pontiac Tempest , turbo 400 , dark emerald green metallic, Dunlops on chrome baby moons.
I didn't really care for the second generation S-series at first either. They looked to me like a dead hammerhead shark, sad.
After time they grow on ya Maybe the Colorado will do the same? Hmmm...not to sure about the goofy wheel well openings either so it make take a long while
