big flares
Ok, most you yall know from ZR2.com that LS1 is building flares to make our wheel wells 36"s. Instead of wait to buy his flares, any way to get another flare for say a toyota tacoma (34" wheel wells) and put that on our trucks? If your going to do some cutting may as well drill a few holes too. Or to make it easyer on getting the rear flares to work, what about 33" wide ZR2 flares? That would atleast let you run a 31 with no rubbing at all.

I have thought about this myself in the past. Someone told me one time that our front fenders had a simular opening as the early 70's model chevy trucks. And that the Cut outs from Bushwacker might fit. I don't know if this is true, someone will have to goto the mall with a tape measure.

I think that is the point of this idea, bigger flares, lots of cutting and bigger wheel wells.Warnoffroad wrote:...the trucks back then hads like 37" wheel wells.
The biggest problem is going to be the profile (topography of the side)
"Cutout flares" would not be an option since the moulded lip for the rivets would not easily be modified for the profile.
The "extend-a-fender flares" would be easier to modify for the profile, but after all the cutting you'd need to rebuild a lip for mounting them to the inner fenderwell. Plus you'd need to modify the flare for the door, since there won't be much room at the rear of the fender.
