I am in the market for a used truck. I have been flip flopping between a extended cab truck (silverado, f150, sierra) and a crew cab midsize (colorado, canyon, tacoma). My price range is 10 to 15,000 and I love the car I am trading in, so I am scared I will end up with something I don't like. After work I saw this:
2003 S-10 zr5 (what is the difference from a zr2?)
98,000 miles
1 previous owner, very clean
new tires
$11,000
ZR5 is just an appearance package. Bars, flares and wheels. Nothing like the ZR2 offroad package.
What do you plan to do with it? You know the mileage will be around 15 mpg, right?
Even at VERY clean that is over priced by at least $3k
I wouldn't give them more than $8k
Lots of things to check like ball joints, wheel bearings, axle vent relocate, intake gaskets, Dex-crud, transfercase switch leak, stuck slide pins, idler arm and pitman, bed crossmember and filler tube rust, the list goes on....

Thanks for the info. After looking around on the internet, I started to realize it was over priced. I am new to the truck world so everything seems overpriced hahaha. I didn't realize the zr5 was just an appearance package. The dude at the lot said that it was an upgrade from zr2 HA! I didn't know because I had never heard of zr5, but had seen a zr2 a long time ago.
Insultingly over-priced. Run away and never return to this dealer for any reason.
