crew cab daily build
hey guys im new to the forum and figured id post up my current project so here it is
truck will be a 2wd crew cab long bed with a 4.3 auto lowered 2 3 with spindles and leaf springs all new front suspension parts steering parts tie rods bushings zq8 steering box zq8 front and rear sway bars
bought a donor 2wd 4 dr blazer for motor trans rear wiring harness front doors front sheetmetal ect
started with a standard cab long bed frame cut it and added a new front clip and stretched it out.
the cab when i got it..
after adding 2x4x3/16 tube i plated it with 1/8 plate all around
cab on..
realized the rear body mounts are 3 inches higher on a cc and the bed to cab gap is different so i sectioned the frame 3/4 of an inch and raised the rear mounts..
gusset..
quick pic together
front suspension reinstalled...
rear suspension stripped..
rear suspension reinstalled with disc brake rear
current stage..
donor truck
thats how it currently sits next step is stripping cab and painting it then reassembly of cc will begin as well as disassembly of blazer for parts will begin...

Should be a pretty sweet truck when you're done. There are a couple more long bed two wheel drive crewcab trucks on this forum. Jesse James did one too.
Keep the pictures coming. We want to see more.

Re: crew cab daily build
Any progress as of late?
Glad to see you kept it. I like the build and would like to do the same with mine once I get my Volvo beater back together and running for the street. I would actually like to go taller, maybe put solid axle up front and such. So much to do so little time.

Beautiful! I love the white! Where did you find the rear doors for the crew cab? I cant seem to find them anywhere as I could use one for mine. Got banged up pretty bad this past winter with the snow in NYC.

Truck was no where near done when I bought it. Pictures looked good. I had to do some major modifications to body and the frame. I consider it my build. He started very good that was about it. He wont reply to me about any misses pieces. I've been searching for interior parts for quite some time now.
Interior Missing:
Rear wall plastic
Rear driverside door floor trim
Front both sides kick panels.
Exterior Missing, just mainly all stock bolts, just have one of each and the wipercowl along with the wipers.

Been busy and haven't worked on truck much. Turns out head gasket was blown so I'll be swapping the motor in the truck soon only thing left is that n bleed brakes. Interior is complete n everything else is basically done. Here's a few pics from today with the zq8s on her ...
