Big lift without the big price?

Hi guys! I'm kind of new to the forum, and I was just wondering if I could buy a decent price 3 or 4 inch lift. I am having a hard time finding one online. I'm kind of on a budget, so I was considering getting a 2 inch lift, but I want just a little more height than that. Do you guys have any suggestions?

There is no 3" or 4" lift for the crew cabs. 6" is the smallest suspension lift and 2" is the largest body lift. The 2" suspension lift / key lift, is not an option. There are plenty of reasons and threads on why. Just say no.

Check out the "Marvelous Mystery Lift" (MML)
Lots of pictures of MML rigs in the "Readers Rides" thread. The MML will have you sitting 1"-2" higher than a RPO ZR2 s-series.

If i wanted a high lift, i would make it myself. Between a iron worker, a lathe ,milling machine, Plasma cutter, wire welder almost every thing is possible.

One question I have though. I am only 15. Would this be a project too big for me to tackle? Are there instructions in a thread to the MML? How much is this going to cost?

Just one more question I have, if you don't mind. I asked around at my school (not that that is the best resource) but they said that cranking the t bars might affect the 4x4 and could cause breakings. Also I would need to realign it right away becaust the tires would face outward. Is this all true?

Cranking the torsion bars had been known to cause premature cv boot wear and failure. And yes, you'd need a front end alignment asap.

lol thats pretty funny. I was just refering to replacing the shocks and shackles. I was just wondering if just the lift kit will be enough with the addition of cranking the T bars. I'm a 15 yr old on a budget. Dont even have my license yet...:/

Save your money for gas. You'll need plenty $$ to fill the tank. By the time you get your license the price of fuel might be nuts and 14 mpg is going to be hard to pay for. Lifting is not going to help the mileage.

I only live about a mile away from my school. I could have walked this year, but I'm kind of a motorhead. I don't have to fill up the tank very often.

I cranked my torsion bars. The boots popped off but go back on fine w/ large hose clamps. Ball joints every year though. Lifetime warranty on those... still a pain to change. Your choice. But bodylift is more appetizing.

I think that I am going to install the 2 inch body lift and see if that is enough for me first. If it is not, I will crank the t bars. I'm 6'2, I just want to step up in my truck instead of bend over.
