Parts book, cd, or website

Post by JaVeRo »

What is the best way of getting part numbers for our crewcab trucks without going to the dealer? I have not had very good luck with any of the online catalogs I have found.

Is there a parts book available for purchase? A CD available? Am I using the wrong websites?

Right now I am looking for the rubber boot that covers the parking brake lever on the rear brakes where the parking brake cable attaches.

James, GMpartsdirect.com had or has a parts "look up" section or they did. I purchased from them several times and later someone posted that there were diagrams of parts posted lower than where I had scrolled before on their site. S&H is hefty there but, if, you can confirm the exploded parts view, we would all be grateful.

GMpartsdirect is one that I have tried searching with no luck. I have the parking brake shoes and If I enter the parts number, I find the part. If I go to their "GM Alternate Catalog" I cannot get to the same part by following their menu or entering the part number.

When searching for the boot on the parking brake where the cable attaches, I can't find anything except the cables.

I did not find any exploded parts view. It may be there and I'm just looking in the wrong place.

Rockauto.com can be a good source too. It lists the AC Delco and Dephi parts sometimes.
