FAQ Where to buy stuff thread

Post by Conman »

Just wondering if we should have a thread listing where everyone bought stuff(good and the bad).

Just a thought.

Cheers,

Con

So ............. you bought anything yet, or did you want somebody else to lead off? :)

I buy most things from local shops, so that I have some immediate recourse should they not work/fit. But, that results in me paying a little more than web purchases. I've done local purchases for the K&N FIPK Gen 2, Gibson cat-back exhaust, PA 2" bodylift, Trailmaster R1537 add-a-leaf, and UWS aluminum bed box.

My 1.75" rear wheel spacers are from Performance Wheel, purchased online. Service was good, and they were made and shipped more quickly than expected. Also I have the Daystar shackles from online, but they are not on the truck yet - I may yet rework my rear springs.

My bed extender and hitch were on from the factory.

So all in all, I can't really complain about any of the purchases. I would not buy the Gibson again, but instead would recommend getting a Flowmaster and having it installed custom fitted.

I ordered my Truxedo bed cover from them:

http://truckxpressions.com/truckaccesso ... covers.htm

I had a problem as Truxedo labeled the boxes wrong and I got a fullsize cover. Truckxpressions contacted Truxedo for me and Truxedo contacted me back promptly and sent out the correct cover BEFORE I send back the wrong one! Very Good Company!

http://www.stylinconcepts.com/ I made a few orders for APC front clear light markers and rear TYC taillights. I received what appeared to be an open box return for the APC lights so I returned them and they did refund the return shipping promptly.

The APC lights are so so as they appear to be turning yellow(i'm not sure but I'll keep an eye on them. Plus even my second set has hairline cracks in the plastic.

The Rear TYC Tail Lights are great and no problems with them.

Unfortunately for me, the only close place to me to buy stuff is PepBoys..... There use to be a great truck shop near me called ATV(auto, truck, van) but it turned into an import shop so they don't carry much truck stuff anymore. Napa is a little far from me to go as well.

I got my body lift from Summit. Part number PRA PA-192. It's like $160 there...which was the cheapest I found online.

I noticed that as well. Most places are charging 199 for it. Was there shipping charges from summit? some places were free shipping so the price diff. is not much.

Thanks,

I don't remember. It was maybe $20. I wish I could have just ordered it right from the manufacturer and gone and picked it up...they're only 90 minutes from my place.

Gotta give another :thumb: to ORW

Quick times from order to my doorstep! Good price and no shipping charges (Special offer)

I ordered the K&N FIPK Tuesday afternoon and installed it Friday afternoon :D
