Ring gear size?
So I go into advanced auto to get a rear wheel seal. They can not tell me what size seal or diff gasket I need unless I tell them the ring gear size. All I knew was I have 3.42 gears. Tried searching, does anyone know what size I have? Or is more info needed?

Ours is 7.625" (7 5/8 ) GM 10 bolt
It is the same cover as the older 7.5" GM 10 bolt. These were used in the Astro, Safari, Camaro, S-series, etc.
There may be differences in seals and bearings between the two.
Check out the thread on the correct gasket to use. Holes or slots for oiling the differential carrier bearings are preferable.
