When changing my oil....

Every time I have changed my oil which has been every 3000 or a little more miles, I always find a build up of very very fine metal particles on the drain plug. Has anyone else noticed this about their engines??

you shouldn't have any metal particles in your oil. that's usually a bad sign.

Hmm, I do remember mentioning that to the service manager at a local stealership. Back when it was still under warranty.

If the magnet has what appears to be metal "fuzz" on it then that's normal, but if the metal particles are big enough to see or if there is a lot of metal "fuzz" covering the magnet then you might have problems.

Every vehicle that I have owned since I was 16 has had some amount of metal "fuzz" on the magnet when changing the oil.
