X2! That split window is outstanding except for those Freakin' wheels! He'll get 50K plus for that Veedub! I wouldn't mind having another '67! Best year IMO. First yr for the 12V system and the 1500CC flat four banger!

"Everyone goes through their VW phase". That is what I was told.
I had a pretty quick bug for a while. It was built from three and titled as a '63. I built the 2135cc dual 48IDA Webbered roller engine. It sounded like it ran on alcohol with the crisp pop of the exhaust. That thing would lift the front tires pretty easily and drove like a go-cart. One race on the back roads I took on the towns "big shot" , The bright yellow Fantasy Bug, with my little grey primered bug. The throttle cable snapped when I shifted to third and I still coasted across the end of the quarter six car lengths ahead  Never did see that loser hang around town much after that. He had a big mouth and a bigger opinion of his bug.
That thing was fun, but had its problems. I built the engine with the money I made working in Alaska. I had way more invested in that engine than I should have. After twisting the third crankshaft in two , I gave up and sold it for the price of the carbs. That was the end of my VW phase.
