ok so i noticed today that my passenger side half shaft was leaking alittle fluid so i check it and it slides in and out of the axle tube not alot of movement but the driver side has none any ideas i will post a pic of where im talking about

Just a guess since I don't know your truck but on my 01 there is a snap-ring that "locks" the inner end of the drive axles to the front diff output shafts. If broken or missing or badly worn might cause the movement illustrated. A small amount of movement is normal so it's kind of a judgement thing as to how much is acceptable. The snap ring wouldn't be expensive but the other parts ain't cheap if you get real serious.
