Got My CC
well yesterday i got my s10 runs good but was wondering, when its at high RPM before a shift it seems like it takes a moment before it shifts and the rpms get higher without anymore power until it shifts? is that normal or something to watch. And i also think i need a driverside window motor.

The shifting is normal I believe, because mine used to do that until I got it custom tuned. The window motor is also a common thing to stop working on these trucks.

The stock cat flows pretty good, so "gutting" it will do almost nothing for extra power, but it will increase your emissions which will cause you to fail emission testing if you have it in your state.Rebel-Chevy wrote:i was thinking bout getting just a muffler and punching out the cat.
Overall there is no reason to "gut" the cat.

It was around $200 dollars without the tips that are on it... I replaced the tips and those ones cost $50.BobbleSmitty wrote:Thanks guys! It's a custom cat back dual exhuast with a V-Force muffler, 2.5" Stainless Steel pipes, and two 3" slash cut black chrome stainless steel exhaust tips. Had a local muffler shop install it for me back in December of 2004. Probably my most favorite mod yet! And yes, I can get my spare down... but it is the small donut tire, not a full size one.
The inchannel vent visors are awesome! They work very well.

The steps are fairly easy...
1. Get out a phone book and look up some muffler shops who can custom bend an exhaust. (or ask friends who have had experience w/ any shops)
2. Once you find a shop that can do your truck, tell them which muffler you want, what size tubing, and bring in your truck.
Mine was custom bent and fabbed up right there on the spot. There are no dual exhaust cat back systems for the crew cab. So it has to be bent by a shop custom made for your truck. Word of advice, you dont exactly need stainless steel tubing, but definately get stainless steel tips!

My paper work says V-5 in the part number section for the V-Force muffler. That's all I really know? I would just ask your friend to see if he could recommend which model muffler to get for the 4.3L V6 in our trucks.
