Flexy Flares

Since no one makes flares for our crew anymore, I decided to look around for alternatives.

Has anyone installed the univeral flare from Pacer? It is called the Pacer Flexy Flare. And from what I can tell it comes in a roll and you cut and mould it to your truck.

No offense, but barf and double barf. What's wrong with your ZR5 flares that you'd consider getting those?

I can't extend my flares for larger tires. Stock is too small.

I had those on my first truck. 1984 Bronco II. Bought the truck from my grandparents who had them installed at the dealership when the truck was brand new. They held up fine until I sold the truck in 1999.

Looked like ass, but held up just fine.

Those will not help much. They will only serve to reduce the size of the already small wheel well.

If you are desperate for wider than the ZR5 fender flares, how about some Bushwacker extend-a-fender flares? (quite a bit of modification was required for the rear flares) Those were the first flares that I used.

I haven't yet seen them on a truck so I can't yet say that they look like ass.

But just tossing an idea out there. Too bad we can't get our hands on the molds that where used on KCustoms's truck.

Maybe I can get some of that black garden edging stuff and use it...

Those would work using the method most of us have used when installing te skidz flares. That would give you more tire room, BUT.... I have to agree with Jigg, just from those small pics, they don't look that great.

The modification page still shows the fiberglass fenders website. Their $355.00 per fender but still may be an option.

That price is per set. Front set $355
There are no rear fenders for our trucks though.

With the way our rear fenders bulge out, you could probably cut out the wheel opening to look similar to those front fiberglass fenders.

For some reason I thought you where talking about fiberglass fender flares and not the baja style fenders.

I'm getting a set of those fiberglass fenders. They'll definately cost you more though than the bushwacker fender flare type. They have to be painted and all that so if you cant do that yourself figure about $400 for a body shop to paint it. Atleast thats a price I was given out where I live. You will also have to modify the inner fender well slighty. I'll post pictures when i can. Dont know how long that'll be though.

Congrats. You will be the first crew cab to do that as far as I know.
I think they will look pretty good with the bulged stock rear fenders. You may have to cut them to fit a bigger tire.
