Get the width as well.
Our boxes are wider at the front than the back. The Isuzu bed on the crew cabs seems to differ from the standard s-series box.
I had to narrow the cover I used 1"-1.25" behind my tool box and .25" at the tailgate.
The cover had shrunk so bad I really can't use that as a good judgment.

Are you saying that your CC has a trapezoid shaped bed rather than a rectangle?HenryJ wrote:Our boxes are wider at the front than the back. The Isuzu bed on the crew cabs seems to differ from the standard s-series box.

When I had a shell on my CC I measured the bed and it was the same front to rear.
Maybe I am completely misunderstanding what your saying here.

Yes. You must have taken that measurement after the wreckkillian96ss wrote:Are you saying that your CC has a trapezoid shaped bed rather than a rectangle?HenryJ wrote:Our boxes are wider at the front than the back.

The front of the crew cab bed is 1.5" wider than the rear. This is at the inside of the bed rails.
IIRC, the long bed is closer to 2.25" wider at the front?
All the Chevrolet trucks have been this way since at least the early nineties.

I measured mine, but it was just a couple minutes ago. It's an Extang Tiltable with quick detach system. I can supply a part number if needed. I can twist two L handles and the cover raises with shocks, (then just raise the cover further, slide and no cover). I can have my cover off in less than 1 minute, but completely secure while attached. I'm not sure whether it's seeing Brule's measurements, or just being tired/getting a cold/and a couple but I'll re-measure tomorrow. You also have to remember that I've got Line-X spray on bedliner on my truck.
I got for the inside bed rail number (lip to lip): At the tail gate width 55". Cab width is 56 1/2". Center of bed width is 55 3/4". Bed length is 55" at the outsides and 55 1/2" in the center.
As stated those measurements are lip to lip of the inside bend of the bed rail. My cover is a bit wider so the cover's rain guard lip center is more like 58" at the cab width, 56 3/4" at the tailgate width, 57" at the bed center width, and 59 3/4" for the cover length at the corners. I did not take the maximum outside measurements of the cover. I tried to get you measurements of the rain guard lip that would be in the center of the rails that would rest on the center of the bed rails, but I had nobody to hold the other side of the tape measure.
I know the cover versus rail measurements seem off by a couple inches, but remember those are inside bed lip measurements versus center of rain guard lip of cover.
Again, I'll measure again tomorrow if you need.

It is possible that my measurements were taken from the shell rather than the bed.
This new (to me ) info is very interesting.
I wonder why they are designed like this? Does it have something to do with aerodynamics/drag?

Well, the rear width cannot be different than our brethren. The tailgates interchange (yes, I did it with a lowrider to see if, they would)

I am pretty sure you have a typo? The front measures 56 1/2"WVHogRider wrote:I measured mine, ... inside bed rail number (lip to lip): At the tail gate width 55". Cab width is 55 1/2". Center of bed width is 55 3/4". Bed length is 55" at the outsides and 55 1/2" in the center.
I don't know the reason behind it. Probably something to do with aerodynamics though.
Reed is right the tailgates interchange.

You're right. Definitely a typo. I have 56 1/2" width lip to lip for the bed marked on my sheet.HenryJ wrote:I am pretty sure you have a typo?
