Fuel filler door

Post by PATRICKH »

Anyone have problems with the stock fuel filler door not staying closed ?

Anyone know of a billet alum. replacement ?

Purchased my truck this summer and I love it, except for the fuel guage, which I see is a common problem.

Love the site too, great find.

I don't recall anyone having a problem with the stock door in the past but some have looked into replacing for cosmetic reasons. I'm not sure if they ever found a solution.

Be aware though that the filler door and the mounting surface are not smooth/flat. So, while there are plenty available for regular and extended cab S10/Sonoma, they won't fit quite right... at least not right out of the box. Will most likely require some modification of the door assembly, body panel or a shim.

Your best bet is probably to try to find a wrecked CC with an owner looking to sell parts.

Good Luck and welcome aboard
