Post by Razorback »

Split topic since this has nothing to do with Mike's Flares ;) -HJ

By the way does anybody know what brand nerfbars and bedrails come on a stock ZR5 and what color ZR5 sticker comes a pewter color ZR5 because i am planning on turning my Crew cab into a ZR5 but without the roofrack and star shaped wheels....

Can anyone help me out on this??? :(

As for the step bars, you're probably going to have to get aftermarket because the stock bars are attached differently. The bolts are welded to the frame aimed outward, then the bracket goes on, then a nut holds it on.

That is unless you drill out the frame and put some bolts all the way through. I don't know about the bed rails? And to really make it look like a Zr5, you gotta get the Zr5 wheels!! That's what sold me! Go for some fender flares too!

The chevy version is pretty easy to imitate. The black Westin signature series step bars look pretty close. A bonus is that they are easily lifted after the addition of a body lift.
For a GMC you need the satin aluminum bars. That might be a little harder to find.

Mounting the stock ZR5 bars might be more trouble than what they are worth. Those studs are hot welded to the frame, I think?
Other than welding studs to your frame, there may not be a really good way to mount them.

Try a search for stickers or decals and you should find a few choices for decals as well as the part numbers.

Decal King made me some custom sized/colored 4x4 decals for my CC. They do excellent work, and will do custom jobs.
