Lifting a little
Split topic-HJ
Well I was thinking of lifting it a little, but I don't want anything too high. Just something to get it up off of the ground since the stance is so low. My friend said that he could crank the torsion bar and put new control arms on and that would solve the problem of wearing out the CV boots. And then in the rear doing a leaf spring addition. But I looked at the Boise Spring Works idea on the main page here and I like that idea better. Does anyone know the pricing of it??
But I think I am going to go with the General Grabbers. I just like the look of the tires, and as stated before, they were noted for having a high tread wear rating.

I think you should read all that you can about TB cranking here before you think about letting your friend do any tb cranking or replacing any control arms. Just keep using the search function and I am sure you will find some very good info. As for control arms being changed out. I don't think you will find much info here or other sites concerning that alternative for lifting.

If you want a little lift, go for the body liftfirst. Adjust the t-bars to the maximum Z height, or just enough to level things up.
Skip the a-arm replacement / crank idea. Wait on the add-a-leaf kit.
The body lift has more advantages.
There are lots of threads on the subjects. A quick search should yield the answers you seek.

Nope, they give you spacers for the front bumper, and new bumper brackets in the rear. Looks exactly the same when you're done!!!

The earlier BDS kits do not address the late model bumpers. The kits for the late model CCs take care of the bumper brackets and match the lift. Downside is that using the rear bumber is no longer an opttion for towing.BobbleSmitty wrote:Nope, they give you spacers for the front bumper, and new bumper brackets in the rear. This is a 2' PA BL
Bumpers are aligned
The part number you want is PA192

HenryJ turned me on to them. They are 1st gen hooks. Let me look for a pic.

They mount the same as the stock hooks. Right along side of the front shield bolted directly to the frame.
Ignore the hitch that is sandwiched between the shield and hook mounting bolts in this picture-
That should give you some idea.
