ALDL connector problem...*solved*

Post by Gonzzo »

My blaZeR2 just coughed up a SES light (probably a p0128 = taking too long to reach proper operating temp due to the 180* thermostat)but i ran into another problem. I have tried both the tech2 gm scanner and the snap-on scanner and neither is getting a connection. I inspected the ALDL connector and all the pins seem to be ok. I went as far as to swap the factory ecm back to see if that was the problem but that didn't work(i have a tunned ecm in there now).In the past i have had to pull up on the scanner wire while connected to the ALDL just to keep a connection but even that is'nt working now. Anyone else ever have this happen to them?. Any suggestions on what to look for?.

I REALLY don't wanna trace the wires @ the loom but it's looking more and more like im gonna have to.

Thanks.

I found the culprit, the cigarette lighter fuse was blown, replaced it and the scanner worked.

Thanks.
