So i'm buying one of John's GMC ZR5's to have a matching (sorta) spare. I have Chevy ZR5's on my truck, so i was thinking of just taping off the face of the rim and shooting it with some Rustoleum Black Night Metallic (almost exactly the same as spectra grey).
It's just going to sit on the tire carrier, so i don't think the paint will take too much abuse. Is there a different kind of paint I should use, or some special process I should do? I'm not looking to send it out to have it professionally redone, as it's just a spare. I just want it to match.

You'll need to rough up the surface and clean the area you are with a cleaner (duplicolor has that too) to remove all wax and oils.
