Stumbled across this at the salvage yard today. Working on the truck , I have slipped off the little bit of exposed bumper. The truck is high enough now that sometimes there is no choice but to try to use the bumper to get high enough to reach.
Now I have a reliable step for support It might be a little "Huggy", but should be functional.
I came off of a 1989 Bronco II. I had to modify the profile to better match the bumper, as well as add a slot in the top of the bumper for it to attach.
If I decide to remove it there are no visible alterations.

Well you were not far off. I thought I could live with the "asymmetrical look"...I was wrong. The "chi" was not properly balanced
I rounded up another one for the other side. It turns out that they are obsolete parts, so new is not an option. 1989 may also be the only model year Bronco II that had them. And then only the ones with the rear tire carrier. That made it a little hard to find. Well that and a couple "closed yards" that were not willing to let me take a look. Their loss.
They really will make it nice for working on the distributor
I did give a thought or two to clearance for the front mounted hitch, but installed them with wanton disregard anyway. I really lucked out. The handles of the removable winch rest against them just right Boy did I get lucky.

I have no problem reaching anything on my CC! Just how tall are you anyway? Just messin with ya! I'm 6'3", but my truck is also not as high as yours. Overall it does seem like a cool mod, too bad you can't buy em new.
I'm 6' nutt'n. It wasn't too bad to work on with just a body lift, The last bit of lift made the difference.
It is not one of those things that I went looking for originally. Just turned out that way. I do think they will be a good addition

Sorry , But I really can't envision that attached to the front bumper.

Hey, whatever works I used one just like it on the alternator and some recent LS-1 E-fan wiring tasks.

There are a few problems with using that one.
Our plate mounts to the plactic front valance. There is no support to mount it to. Next our plate is recessed under the bumper. You would lose half of the step or more to the overhang. Last it is for a Dodge...isn't there a law against adding that to a Chevy? (if there isn't, maybe there should be?)

My first vehicle was an '88 bronco II. It also had the step on the back bumper. My buddy also has an '87 with it also. I'm pretty sure any bronco II 90 or earlier should have the step as long as they had the swing away rear spare tire carrier.

Picked up on E-Bay- 1/8in. aluminum diamond plate, fully welded construction, painted with black hammertone paint (can't have any of that shiny stuff showing). Holds my 340lbs no problem and lets me get up where I need to be when the truck is on the ramps, also makes a good cattle catcher.
