Won't save them for me. I'll be dancing on it's grave when it goes belly up.

Awe come on, have you lost your love for Chevy's or did you never have any to begin with? I have always been a diehard Chevy fan, although I must admit my favorites are still from the 60's.
It started with their products and service in the late 80s, correct that..........the late 70s, for starters. Yes, there have been rare exceptions to that but, not many. I loved my '69 Z-28, my 442 before that. My Corvair Spyder before the 442. My recent bout directly with their headquarters soured me completely on costumer service. If you think that the service departments were hard to deal with before this 100K warranty you, ain't seen nothing! A lady I work with (who's husband is a GM service manager) tells me the horror stories of when he approves warranty work with the current 36K program and he exceeds his monthly quota. I think GM will triple it stubbornness with this program and it won't be honored when this one is over. It is a last gasp of a dying Giant. I hope I am wrong but, I doubt it. Until they stop paying "floor sweepers" and "grassmowers" $65/hr they will never compete again. Unions were good in the past but, their greed has gone too far.

I got the 5yr-100K extended warranty thrown in for free back in '01.

Basically it's just the latest gimmick. They cut back on rebates and put this warranty in instead. If you buy a vehicle today you might be looking at buying an extended warranty from the dealer for something like $2000...and that covers more than that powertrain. They cut out the middleman this way, and they also cut out the bigger rebates. It was better before when you could get bigger rebates.
Here's the link to a discussion on the topic in our Avalanche forum:
By the way, if anyone on here is interested in buying a 2006 or 2007 Av, Tahoe, Suburban, or some other GM product, there is a thread in the forum with people (GM employees) who can help you out with GMID (GM in Driveway) certificates and possibly get you some additional bucks off a new rig. The GMID certs drop the price to supplier price without any negotiation needed. Rebates, etc. are taken out on top of that.
It was because of the people in the Av forum that I was able to get mine. Anybody can join our forum. You don't have to own an Avalanche...and there is a wealth of knowledge, vendors, etc.
