Running to cool..? (Thermostat)

Running to cool..? (Thermostat)
Alright i'm having a problem... my SES light came on and i took it to AutoZone and they said my Truck is running to cool.... i'm may be new to trucks and such but never heard of this before..... He told me i needed a new Thermostat.... figured i would check this out before he was pumping me full of bull wanting me to just spend money.... anyone have any idea.. and if so what kind of Thermostat should i get?....

195° is the stock temperature setting. He should have printed you a read out of the SES code (DTC) that you threw. Do you know what the code was, number wise? What modifications have you performed if, any?

Are you the original owner? Maybe the previous owner installed a 160° t-stat which will usually set the SES light. The stock t-stat is 195° and a good upgrade is the 180° t-stat made by JET. I have never set the SES light with my 180° t-stat. If the engine is running too cold the emissions will be higher and this is why the SES light is turned on.
