Yea... it's a Ford

Post by BobbleSmitty »

No, I didn't trade in my CC but a while back I think I may have posted some pics of the truck my cousin and I were going to build. Back in October, we picked up a 1952 Ford F100. Since then, on weekends or free nights, we devoted a few hours here and there to working on the truck. From the start we decided that it wouldn't be for show, just for doing burnouts and well, doing more burnouts!! We definately achieved that goal for sure!! We took the entire truck apart down to the frame. We used POR-15 on the frame to give it the powdercoat finish. We flat blacked all of the body. Dropped the flat 8 out and put in a 390 c.i. 4 barrel engine and hooked up some NOS!! Attached to the engine is a C6 3 speed automatic transmission. We had the drive shaft shortened and balanced to work with our new setup. We got new brakes all around and all new electrical (converted it over to a 12 volt seeing it was a 6 volt back then). We got Firebird bucket seats and some seatbelts :) We're not completely done with it quite yet, but it is fairly street legal now!

And yes, we did accomplish our goal. It does the sickest burnouts!! It will burn the tires until you let off the gas :) Here are some before and after shots of the project.

Guess you were planning on getting new tires.
I wonder how long it would take for them to catch fire.

We've got about 8 more tires stacked in the back to put on still! We just installed line locks tonight so we don't have to use a brick to keep it in place! As for them catching fire, I bet it wouldn't be much longer than what we did, the rubber on the ground was smoking for quite a while afterwards!

There was no bleach, water or anything, that's straight up rubber on concrete. That video from streetfire was choppy and bad quality, I uploaded it to my photobucket... It's a little clearer here.
