5W-30 is not a good oil in the summer if your temperatures regularly exceed 90*.

According to the owners manual and API certification 5w-30 is preferred and recommended for temperatures above 100F to below 0F. Basically the full range.killian96ss wrote:...5W-30 is not a good oil in the summer if your temperatures regularly exceed 90*
10W-30 is only used for temperatures above 0F.
From the owners manual: "Do not use 20W-50 or any other grade oil not recommended."

Amsoil 0w-30 here ,year round since its change interval is one year or 30000 miles whichever comes first. Have to order some this weekend along with a filter for it's spring changeover.
