something for more power
my truck is now running 1 of these
NOSnot this exact kit but close
when it hit you can fell the power of the shot. I get bored fast and needed something else to do to the CC so this is the next step , just need to hit a track to see how much I can pick up.

is there any down fall to not having 1 HJ.HenryJ wrote:Invest in a purge kit.
I got the kit from my buddy for $250 it came with everything seen in photo above plus Bottle blanket and bottle heater.
I figured if im not happy with it I can sell it for 5-600 he paid 799 for everything and made about 5 runs on it then blew a head gasket and took it off.
You can feel it hit at a stand still or rolling at 75, I have read that if used corectly it wont hurt anything.

The purge will help the consistency. You want liquid as close to the nozzles as possible. It tends to turn to gas in the line.
Be careful. Your buddy is not the only one who has had problems with the juice. It is radical and can swing the wrong way in a heart beat.
You also may need to look into a fuel pump. I'm not sure the stock one can keep up with a dry kit.
NOS is fun. There is nothing quite like turning on an additional engine with the push of a button. My Vega runs a 125 shot cheater system.

How much Nitrous are you running through it right now? HJ has a very good point about wether or not the stock fuel pump can keep up with a dry kit. You don't want to do what your buddy did.jeff024 wrote:I just wanna hit a 15 in this truck even if its a 15.99 Id be happy my best run yet has been 16.80s.

from the site above
Q: Should I modify my fuel system to use nitrous oxide?
A: Most stock fuel pumps will work adequately for smaller Nitrous applications. It is important to check to see if your pump can flow enough fuel to your existing fuel system (whether carburettor or fuel injected), as well as being able to supply the additional fuel required by the nitrous kit under full throttle conditions. It may be a good idea to dedicate a separate fuel pump to the nitrous kit if in doubt.

well the CC went down the track twice today on the bottle
1st run I took it easy hit the bottle at the 1/8 mile switched out of 4wd at 60ft
60ft. 2.452
330ft. 7.127
1/8 mile 10.901 @66.10 mph
1000ft. 14.120
1/4 mile 16.84 @83.00 mph
2nd run hit the bottle at 60ft and ran 1/4 mile in 4wd
60ft 2.357
330ft. 6.640
1/8 mile 10.210 @68.69 mph
1000ft. 13.345
1/4 mile 16.027 @83.63mph
Im sure if I hit it from start to finish and go to a larger shot I can hit mid 15s the 1st run was a 45 shot and the 2nd was a 50 shot so we will see next time around .

very nice. did you do anything to add more fuel, or did you just spray it ahead of the MAF, and let it add fuel?
also, you dont really have to use a purge on a dry setup like this. the purge is really designed to help wet systems from rich bogging, when the system is first triggered.
while it could improve consistency on a dry shot somewhat, the vapor in the line also helps soften the initial hit slightly too, possibly helping to maintain traction.
also, when my truck still had the front axle, launching in 4WD consistently cost me about a tenth and a couple MPH in the 1/8 mile.
practicing controlled launches in 2WD always netted faster results, unless you get too aggressive and lose traction, and/or wheel hop.
a LSD in the axle would certainly help my 60ft. times out some
