S10 Tire Gate

Post by killian96ss »

Have you guys seen the Tire Gate made by Wilco Products? I asked if they plan on making one for the S10 and Bob Shatney from Tire Gate told me that they will be making these for our trucks starting in March 06. The price will be less than the full size model, but no quotes can be given at this time. Maybe if there was enough interest here and at ZR2.com we could get a GP going early next year. :D

Yes they are expensive right now, but this product has only been out for a few months and they don't have very many good dealers right now. I was told they would be cheaper for our truck, but I doubt it will be much of a price break. Review all the information on these gates, and you will see why they cost so much. Since they do not yet make these for the S10, it is possible they might give us a really good deal on a GP to get their product out into the market to attract more future buyers. :D

I just got an e-mail from Bob and he said that if I could get at least 5 people committed to buying the Tire Gate he would do a GP, and move the production date from March 06 to January 06. He is still working on a price and will let me know soon. :D

Unless it goes dirt cheap, I prefer HenryJ's line of thought.

Dirt cheap? I doubt it, as this is a very high quality product. I like HJ's swing away tire mount also, but I like the looks of the tire gate better, and in the outboard mount position you will gain bed space as well. Another benefit of the Tire Gate is the airflow through the gate which helps with gas mileage.

Have you herd anything from Bob? 4 Wheel Parts is now selling them. Pretty pricey.

I never heard back from him, but then again I never got 5 people commited to buying one either. Retail price is way to high on these gates right now. $900 is just ridiculous. :!: I would pay up to $500, but not more.
