Replaced my battery

Post by bwenny247 »

Well my stock battery finally was on its last leg this week, barely starting my truck on our 30 degree mornings. 4 years and 60,000 on the stocker and she kept cranking....but just barely.

got an Automarine from advanced auto, 700 Cold Cranking Amps and 3 year warrenty= $70. The Optima red-top was only 720 CCA's with the same 3 year warrenty for $110. couldn't justify the extra $40 for the little difference.

about how long have your guys batteries lasted, just curious?
Thanks

My truck is an `01 with 51k miles. Just had it replaced but not because it lacked the juice. My positive terminal rotted off! The guy at Advanced Auto Parts said that it was a pretty common occurance with GM batteries. :?:

that's a very common occurance if your radiator cap is leaking. You're not still using the stock cap on your '01, are you? :nono:

Same thing happened in my wife's '01 blazer.

new radiator cap = $5
new terminal screws = $2
new battery = $95
