Smittybilt Bumper Thumper

Post by TexasBlaZeR2 »

I have a Smittybilt Bumper Thumper that I plan on putting on my vehicle and I have some questions:

1) I need to remove the grille and upper front piece from the truck. How do I do this? What holds it together? How difficult is this and how long does it take?

2) According to the directions, I also need to remove the skid plate. It says I need to trim each side at the top of the skid plate where it makes contact with the lower support brackets. How do I trim the skid plate? What is it made of and how long does the trimming take?

3) How long should it take to do this whole mounting? I have some Rhino Ramps to drive the front of the truck up on to remove the skid plate. The Bumper Thumper is all ready to go. I just need to remove the the skid plate, remove the front cover, attach the mounts to the top of the bumper and to the tow hook bolts. The most time consuming things sounds like they are going to be the trial mounting and the skid plate trimming.

Who has done this and how long do you think it will take us?

Thanks,

It haven't removed it, but the skid plate is black and looks like black fiberglass. What kind of metal is it made of?

If It Has Strands Like Fiberglass It's The Composite Skid Plate, Like Jeff024 Said Just Use A Jigsaw With A Fine Tooth Metal Blade In It Should Do It.
