New member, new truck, body lift ?

Post by TEXS10 »

Hey, I just purchased a 2003 C/C with 19793 miles on it. I would like to add a PA 2" body lift with 1" Superlift shacks, possible T/B crank, and either 30's or 31's. I love the truck's looks but it sits to low (thats why I would like to add the body lift) but as I read more and more seems like there is alot of problems with the suspension (c/v joints and ball joints). I would like to read some positive reviews on this truck. I really don't do much off-road but do go to my deer lease, and coast fishing (SOUTH TEXAS) which has a few mud holes and pits and sand. Will the body lift hold up on these rough obstacles and will the rest of the truck hold up ? I did purchase my wife a 97 s10 4x4 balzer which we out 97000 miles before we traded it in. (not to many repairs waterpump, a/c compressor, battery, tires). I have seen a lot of trucks on this forum that I wish my truck would like, John's Crew Cab, Camellot, just to name a few. But I would like to know if the truck will hold up ? Good forum lots of information that will help. :D

You will be fine. I have put mine through quite a bit without problems.
Add shocks to your list, as it is one of the first things that need replaced.
Don't go nuts with the torsion bar adjustment. Just take it to the uppermost specification.

Glad you made it  there is a bunch of information here, enjoy!

Welcome to the site :thumb:

Am running 30s with a 2" BL and no problems. I agree with HenryJ on the shocks but, I'd put them at the very top of the list. :D

30 miles south of San Antonio Texas, Little town named Floresville.
What kinda gas mileage do you get ? Does anyone know if the body lift voids the factory warranty ? What brand of tires do have ?
