*SOLD* 5" BDS, 2" PA, 33" MT's, HPPIII , Airaid TB spacer, K&N FIPK, March pulleys, 2.5" straight pipe, Trucktec tonneau, Herculinered body line down, 3/16" custom skid plates
well i don't have a bds but i did install my superlift and $575 doesn't sound bad at all for the install because it's a lot of work. now as far as the price of the kit i think that alittle high. i think you could find it somewhere around the $1600-$1700 price range. i paid $1585 for my kit and i know the 2 lifts are very close in price. if you really don't wanna put it on your self maybe it would be worth it to pay alittle more for the kit and get a cheaper price on the install. i'd try and talk to someone thats had a lift installed buy that shop and see their happy with work that was done. some places kinda rush and do a hack job...you don't want parts coming loose after a few thouand miles. sorry i can't help you with the welding question since i've only installed a sl but you should call bds or check their web site.

I'll probably go BDS and just install it at my house. Any one know of a cheaper place to buy the BDS or SL suspension. Looks like the places here charge a good 4 or 5 hundred dollars more than what I've heard some of you guys getting them for. If you have some phone numbers that are recommended, that would help out alot. Just trying to keep some gas money in my pocket.

Yes I am a mechanic, I work on Volkswagens. I dont do enough welding to be able to install the SL. I thnik I could do the BDS install, I just really want to get a good deal. The more money I save the quicker I can get rims and flares. Know what I mean? Thats why I'm looking for the best possible deal.

the cheapest place to get the superlift is from tyres international. their web site ( www.tyres1.com) has the kit (part# k776) listed for $1632. they were the cheapest when i bought mine in december. now i actually got mine through 4wp wholesalers and i had to fight with them to get thier "no hassle price match" because i had ordered from them before i found out how cheap tyres international was. i don't really know the cheapest place to get bds. some of the big mail order places won't sell thier products....i've asked 4wp in the past and they said something about bds no carrying enought liability insurance for thier kits...or something like that. the welding isn't what makes the kit hard to install(in know alot of people don't have welders) it's just alot of work. you have to take the front of your truck apart up to the frame rails and the put it all back together. if your not really sure of your abilities it might not be bad to pay a couple hundred more for a kit if you can get it installed correctly for $575. it took me 24 working hours to do the kit with a pro mechanic helping and every tool know to man at my finger tips including a hoist. most mechanics want $50-75 an hour x 24 hours that $1200-$1800 ....$575 is a steal. now for that price you need to make sure the shop does good work because you don't want a sloppy install to come back and bite you in the butt later.

sorry we must have been typing at the same time...i didn't realize you are a mechanic. you shouldn't have any trouble intalling these kits. eithre way $575 is still cheap for the labor

Liability insurance has nothing to do with BDS not selling mail order. It is BDS's policy not to sell their products through mail order or the internet. They want you to deal with someone who knows and stands behind there product to service you the best possible way, see here http://www.bds-suspension.com/distributors.html I've been dealing with these guys forever, they are a good company.
