HVAC issue

Post by Jeff »

Well, so far, I have replaced the vacuume switch on the transfer case, did my best to make sure all of the trany fluid is out of the HVAC lines, replace the swelled seal at the selector switch, and things work better, but I still cant get the damper that blows in your face to completly shut. Does anyone know which vacume module controls it, and where it is located. I also had to replace the transfer case control motor because it burned it up trying to switch into 4 X 4 constantly. (500.00) just for the part :x

You are not being ignored. I haven't had the time to research the HVAC system and gather the information that you need.
I am sorry that I do not know what you need right off the top of my head. Contrary to popular rumor I do not know it all. :D

Perhaps I can give you what little I do know.

The defroster actuator is the one closest to the drivers feet. Red and Blue vacuum lines are used in its function. The Blue line is listed as the bi-level.

The Mode door actuator is the next one as you move to the right and uses the yellow and Brown vacuum lines.

The next one is the recirculation door and the orange line supplies its actuator.

Good luck :mg:

I researched this not to long ago and one of the steps in the GM SI program advises to pull the (to the best of my knowledge, Your Honor) is to pull the "positive HVAC" relay for 60 seconds to let it reset.. I am probably wrong but, it certainly can't hurt to try :)
