To paint or not to paint! That is the question???F9K9 wrote:Keep us up on your opinion of the brake caliper paint..........
Well, I painted mine. Red truck, red calpiers. Some may think that this is a "Ricer" mod. Well it is! I don't care! I like it. I painted mine because, when I bought after market wheels, the design I chose exposed more of the brake system.
The mod itself was easy. (You of coarse want to take the wheels off the truck! ) My kit came with the brake parts cleaner (you may want to buy an extra can) paint, & brush. I used my wife's toothbrush to scrub the parts clean. ( Just wanted to see if you were paying attention! ) The paint goes on thin & takes several coats. If you work on two calipers at a time, the first one will be ready for the next coat by the time you finish the second. Just keep going back & forth until you have the desired paint thickness. Easy as that. But hey! Here's a tip! Don't DRIVE the truck until you have let the paint cure for the specified amount of time! My wife saw that I was done & wanted me to go to the store for something. She then couldn't understand why I wouldn't want to drive my own truck to "show off" my wonderful paint job! Folks, she just ain't right!
