US Wheels and Widths

Post by coreylubahn »

Does anyone have any experience with US Wheels? I have decided on getting a set of wheels from them unless anyone has anything bad to say about them. Also, what would be the disadvantages of running a 15X8 (instead of a 15X7) wheel on my setup (2" BL and 1" Tbar)? I really want a wide look and I really like Steve2003's look with 15X8s with the same 31X10.50s that I want to run. I know he has a 3 inch higher lift than me but what does everyone think about this setup? Thanks.

the wider you go the more chance of rubbing and with 31s most likely you wll rub

I have 15x7 US Wheel Daytonas (a.k.a. Rockcrawlers) with 4.5" BS running 31x10.5 MT/R's and they rub when turning and flexing. Hobie had 15x8's of the same wheel with 5" BS and his rubbed worse than mine (I think). I'd go with the 15x7's unless you plan on adding a Superlift and 33x12.5's later on.

I wouldn't recommend running my set up unless you want to do the SL 6. I have 15X8's with 3 3/4 backspacing on 31X10. I had problems with rubbing on the back of my front fender when turning into driveways and turning over dips and ended up having to trim about 3/4 inch of the inside lip and then tapped in about 1/2 inch of the fender well. I bent a 1/4 inch lip back under so it looks stock like no cutting was ever done, that's why I was also wanting to do the 2 inch BL for more clearance. Right now I am not having any rubbing issue's but I have not done any serious off roading. Listen to the advise of what everyone's told you. They know what they are talking about! But then again I would love to see you get that set up, it might force you to get the 6 inch sl  Good Luck!!
