Body lift this weekend
Okay guys, so I'm finally going to put my BL on (starting Friday) so what should I keep in mind. I know not to use the filler neck extension, and watch all my wires/cables/etc for stretch (and not to lift anything to high or hard), but what else should I be ready for, and look out for? Can't wait to get a little more height from this beast, now if I only had the money for Bubaloo's flares and then I could probably put some real nice tires under this beast. Anyway, thanks for any pointers on the BL in advance!!!
read the directions and take your time. i rushed and forgot thr small braket the holds the lower fan shroud down.

dont skip steps. like the one where you need unatach the bracket on the oil pan that is holding your wire harness and get the drill out..also, make sure you have about 12" of socket extensions for the driver side body mount.

I know that one of my pains was that the body mount bolts behind the front bumper took a 18mm wrench. Trouble was that I didn't have any! My set only went to 16mm! So I had to go out & bug my neigbors until I found someone that had one. I had some other troubles but most were because I was doing the lift by myself and I am NOT any type of mechanic!
I guess that's my 2 cents worth.

Yes, mine was missing some bolts also and the filler neck extension (did not need anyway). I don't remember if they mention it, but watch out for the ground strap near the fuel fill hose. I never saw it until after the lift, and it was very tight. I just rerouted it to get some slack.coreylubahn wrote:You mean Performance Accessories has the same problems as Superlift with forgetting to put everything in the box? Geez...I guess it's time to inventory the parts tonight....sheesh.a2b wrote:hope you checked your parts. i bet they are not all there

Funny thing there...I don't think I had them either ( I haven't looked in the box in a while, but I don't remember seeing them)...oh well, I have a printed copy of the instructions for both the PA kit that I have and the BDS kit (some said it has better pictures than the PA).bwenny247 wrote:make sure you have directions and the parts list. lol.
PA apparently forgot or didnt think i needed them
